49 DAY Road to Recall
Your sighthound could run free before summer.
Let me guess...
Every time you drop the leash outside, you nearly have a heart attack.
Your breeder told you letting a sighthound off-lead was a death sentence.
You've spent years following the rules, but training just seems to get harder.
You know your dog is out of control but you don't know how to get control.
You want to die of shame every time you take your dog outside.
You wouldn’t say it out loud, but you're seriously considering rehoming your dog—not because you don’t love them, but because you feel like a failure, with no way out.
The way out is e-collar recall training. I know because I've lived it, personally, 3X over.
I spent 3 years exactly like you -- we went from on-leash frustration and panic attacks every time we stepped outside, to leisurely walks through Hampstead Heath in just months.
I couldn't believe it. This is the same dog??
It was a complete overhaul and resetting of my mindset about training, not just the ecollar itself.
I learned how to face my fears, work through difficult, high-tense situations, and how to hone my training to my dog's unique breed needs.
But here's why this works:
🪢 The e-collar isn’t just a tool; it’s the missing link to getting your sighthound’s recall to a point where you can trust them, no matter how fast they’re running or how distracted they get.
👋 It can get their attention when nothing else can, so that they come back when called—even if they’re zooming around at top speed.
📲 This isn’t about "punishment." It’s about clarity. Translating our human words into our dog's non-verbal universe.
😀 It’s about setting clear expectations, and giving your dog a consistent, trustworthy signal that says: “Hey, come to me for your reward!"
✨The beauty of the ecollar is you can reinforce that signal and habit, no matter the distance or speed. ✨
It's not a constraint, it's every sighthound's best friend in the process of building reliable recall.
And that’s exactly what The 49-Day Road to Recall is all about.

How Does It Work?
We take 49 days to do what others do in years.
✔️ Days 1-10: Build trust, clarity, and handling skills—before we even touch the e-collar.
✔️ Days 11-20: Introduce the e-collar—your dog learns it means "Come back to me, and get a reward!"
✔️ Days 21-30: Add structure & boundary training—so your on-leash recalls become foolproof.
✔️ Days 31-40: Expand into off-leash freedom—time for real adventures together.
✔️ Days 41+: Master emergency recall— to save your dog's life in and before a life or death situation.
🎉 By Day 47, you’ll see the difference in your dog—and in yourself. No more worrying about them running off into traffic.
No more watching the sunset behind the sand dune, waiting for the other dogs to leave.
You and your Borzoi, Greyhound, Lurcher, or other sighthound will be ready to take on the world.

Our Roadmap
Days 1-10: Foundations
The building blocks of recall start before ecollar training. The stronger your foundation is, the more solid your dog’s recall will be in the long run. It’s about practicing your handling skills, learning our foundational exerces, knowing your dog deeper, and starting to practice speed, direction, and accountability.
Days 11-20: Ecollar Conditioning
Now that you and your dog have a solid foundation, and you know how to communicate with each other with the leash and positive rewards, we introduce the ecollar. This is all about teaching your dog that the ecollar sensation is something positive — it means come back to human and get a reward!
Days 21-30: Introducing Pressure
Now that your dog understands that the ecollar means come back to human for a reward, we explore how we can use the ecollar to speed our dog up when recalling and doing other training exercises. We teach our dogs that the ecollar sensation is entirely within their control — they know exactly how to turn it off.
Days 31-40: Balancing Corrections & Positivity
Before we move onto the final stages, it’s important our dogs know their environment, and have a basic understanding of what’s fun, vs. what’s safe, either for themselves or for their human, or for others. We cover the 10 Principles of Corrections, practice our timing, and make sure our dog is confident and resilient.
Days 41-42: The Act of God
The final part of active training on the Road to Recall, we teach our dogs the big WHY behind recall. In a safe, simulated environment, we use the ecollar to show our dogs that blowing through a recall is not just ignoring us, it is extremely dangerous. With all of the prepwork, even though it’s uncomfortable, the Act of God correction strengthens our dog’s understanding of the world, and they know to come back to us immediately.
Days 43-49: Proofing & Exploring!
Now that our dog has a communication system with us, both with and without the leash, with and without the ecollar, and is inoculated against ignoring recall, we can start exploring! Our final days are spent going to all the fun places outdoors that we’ve always wanted to go to with our dog, and making sure their recall is 100% proofed.

✺ Frequently asked questions ✺
-
The Road to Recall is not a general recall training programme. It is for a very specific type of dog and a very specific type of lifestyle — created for sighthounds, by a sighthound trainer of 5+ years.
No other online e-collar training programme is made for sighthounds.
Very few other sighthound trainers even cover ecollar, and many of them are too busy to teach online.
We teach worldwide, and we teach what works.
No need to waste time with what doesn’t work when you have proven Borzoi-specific strategies right at your fingertips, to fasttrack you to success.
-
Because I myself have done it, 3 times over, with my own Borzoi. All 3 of the same “hard-to-train” breed, but with their own unique personalities, challenges, and strengths. If I can do it, so can you.
-
Because we approach training from a balanced perspective, rather than having our hands tied behind our backs. When your dog spits out any treat you try to give them, you gotta be creative. This is the birth of that creativity, from me to you.
-
That’s okay! I trained my first Borzoi, Raoul, to have off-leash freedom, entirely without treats. There are other ways to reward and enforce a behaviour without food.
We also cover building food drive for those who want to have the ease of food rewards.
-
An ecollar is an electronic training collar. It allows us as humans to communicate with our dogs non-verbally, even when they’re hundreds of feet away. My friend Meg calls it a “doggie translator.”
For our sighthounds, who run far and fast, I like to think of it like a doggie cell phone.
-
Nope! It’s a modulated pulse with 100+ different levels, so we can use the most light sensation possible.
The Road to Recall will teach you exactly how to condition the ecollar and train with it so it enhances your dog’s life and increases their safety and freedom.
-
It’s easy to get overwhelmed at the choices. That’s why the Road to Recall includes a Dogtra 280X ½ mile ecollar system + a bungee strap of your colour choice.
Dogtra is one of the top tier ecollar brands in the world, with the greatest distance, power, and flexibility.
-
Absolutely! The programme is rigorous but effective. If you have the passion and time to give it your all, you can see lasting results very quickly.
Within 10 days your dog will be more engaged, understand your commands better, and have the building blocks for recall.
Within 3 weeks your dog will know to come to you when they feel the ecollar.
In just over a month your dog will have a clear understanding of indoor and outdoor boundaries, what is safe and what is fun.
In six weeks your dog will be motivated to come back to you every single time.
By day 49, you will drop the leash for good! (within respect of leash laws)
