An ecollar means I can honour my sighthound’s instincts.

A serene green forest with text overlay that says, An Ecollar Means I can honour my sighthound's instincts.
🧬 Your Borzoi, Greyhound, Whippet, Lurcher, Saluki, and more have an instinct to RUN. It's in their genetics. If you don't fulfil that instinct by letting them run, your dog is going to get more and more frustrated, anxious, reactive, a flight and possibly even a bite risk.

🐰 How do I fulfil this instinct? Well, you can take them to lure coursing or lure racing, which is a sport that simulates rabbit or hare hunting using a plastic bag. But lure coursing clubs are few and far between. Some countries have banned it altogether. Some places it's legal but there are only 4 official meetings a year.

How would you feel if you were only let out of the house 4 times a year? Personally, I don't think lure coursing is enough to fulfil my Borzoi's need to run, unless I go every week, which is not an option in my area.

👋💨 How else can I fulfil this instinct? Simple. I let my dogs run off leash. Every single day.

I can do this because the ecollar keeps us in communication. 📞 The ecollar does not dampen their excitement at going outside and running around. If anything, it can amplify it! It is a SAFETY LOOPHOLE that allows them to run around but still remain in tune with me.

It means I honour their instinct to run every day instead of only 4 times a year. It means that after initial ecollar training is practised so much, it becomes automatic to come back to me, without fear.

It means my sighthounds can be the best versions of themselves. 🏃💨
